Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Sim has a background in music, and he always loved creating and working on tasks that require a lot of attention to detail. He eventually realized he wanted to use this part of his personality to help people in a more meaningful, lasting way, which led him to dentistry.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

A graduate of Colgate University and the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Sim completed his specialty training through the University of Connecticut Post-Graduate Prosthodontics Program. He also has a master’s degree in dental science as well as a certificate in dental implant surgery from UConn.

As a surgically trained prosthodontist, Dr. Sim has extensive experience in full-mouth reconstruction, cosmetic dentistry, crowns, veneers, dentures, and implants. He is also skilled in advanced procedures such as full-arch implant therapy using the All-on-4® protocol, bone grafting, crown lengthening, and guided implant surgery.

Dr. Sim is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists and has presented his clinical work and research at multiple national prosthodontic conferences.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Dr. Sim comes from a close-knit family and is an uncle to two boys, which has become an extremely meaningful part of his life. His fiancée is also in the medical field, so they both value compassion and patient care. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys playing the piano, indoor climbing, and doing landscape photography. Fun Fact: He is quadrilingual in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean!
